Workshop on water in smart liveable cities

3A Water in smart liveable cities

Introduction to workshop:
Water is an essential part of the urban environment, providing or facilitating crucial services to society. New smart and adaptive technologies provide exceptional opportunities for e.g. managing urban water, storm water and wastewater systems efficiently and sustainably. This workshop will explore the potential for innovating smart, holistic and liveable city solutions and demonstrators to (i) utilize synergies between intelligent water and energy systems, (ii) empower cities to adapt to changing climate with extreme rainfall and higher temperatures through e.g. nature-based solutions, (iv) facilitate the use of novel technologies and tools for dynamic control, monitoring and treatment of urban water, and (v) improve the urban quality of life.
